Planning Committees

ImageThe Society maintain an overall Planning Strategy Committee that deals with all Planning matters affecting the District and Surrey as a whole by submitting detailed comments upon Local and National government plans. This Committee is headed by a retired, HM Inspector of Planning.

The other Planning Committee, that meets weekly in Mole Valley's Offices at Pippbrook, Dorking, views all local applications in the Society's area. Over 600 applications are viewed and discussed every year, and around 10% of them merit written comments about design, suitability with their surroundings, and other advisory remarks, using the Local Plan as their guide to current, local regulations. The committee include an architect, an archtectural historian, an environmental spokesman and an architectural artist.
